Teachers

about-us

SEP works directly with US Public School Districts in a cooperative arrangement to provide American State-certified teachers from the participating American Public School Districts to a Chinese school to teach English high school curricula (determined by the requirements of the given US School District for graduation). These teachers are the only teachers allowed by the participating States to teach the high school courses outside of the USA, directly representing allowing students to earn the ‘home’ high school’s diploma. The SEP participating teachers are required by the State’s government to take additional education classes in order to qualify for State certification. Some of these teachers are involved in correcting and writing questions for such tests as the SAT and TOEFL exams, working directly with ETS and the College Board. The SEP teachers work in conjunction with Chinese teachers who will also teach the students the requirements for a Chinese high school diploma as well.

American public high school teachers are also required to teach supplemental English courses as well as TOEFL, SAT, ACT and AP courses, and help with student’s applications to American universities, according to their abilities and experience. SEP has partnerships with American top universities, including such prestigious schools as the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Rutgers University.

American teachers will be paid directly from the Chinese schools who will also provide “Z” visas for the teachers, housing in nice apartments, transportation to and from China, as well as to and from the schools, basic health insurance, a salary comparable to American salaries based on experience, a minimum one-year contract, one free plane ticket for tourism travel or return travel to the USA for holidays. Teachers receive salary throughout the year despite Chinese or American holidays.
